1st event

From picture taking to party planning, we worked together on a few things in the past couple years. When finished, we always joked that we should make a business out of this. We both have a passion for crafts, DIY projects and showing people a good time. One day, we decided this is it, put it on the books; we are going to plan an event. Within 3 weeks, we planned an event, set up a Facebook page and a blog.

This just got real - we are, An Event Project, with plans to create fun, new experiences for women to enjoy and build upon all the while enriching our own little community by networking and promoting with other small, local businesses and consultants.

A small idea and thinking out loud quickly became our first event!

And, here we are, Jen on the left and Jamie on the right. Our night could not have went any better! We were blessed to have 16 amazing women come out and support us.  At the end of the evening I think we had hosted a great social and started our networking.

Women enjoyed the atmosphere, chatted freely and at one point participated in an icebreaker game to meet other women and stir new conversation.

Women listened intently to hear the new fashion trends for the season. They learned ways to pair items and fun accessory ideas.

Then they had the opportunity to have access to the latest fashion line to try on items. This was so much fun and everyone took advantage.

And kept chatting...

We crafted and had a DIY project or 2 or 3...This is one of them, making a chalkboard sign. On one side we had our upcoming events and the other a fun word search for the ladies to do.

Martha Stewart would be proud! These flowers are tissue paper flowers and were made almost 5 years ago for a baby shower (Jen's daughter's to be exact) and continue to be used. LOVE THESE!

Jamie had taken to Pinterest and found some great ideas and these spray painted gold mason jars were the perfect touch. Floating candles in them set the serene tone for the evening.

We were met with enthusiasm from local vendors who all gave great items so that we could throw our first social.

Three dozen cupcakes from three lovely bakers! Yum!

It is safe to say the women left feeling happy, refreshed and with new knowledge. An Event Project achieved their goal to making women feel great by having the chance to relax and enjoy a party just for them! And, there was no better way for them to leave than with a smile on their face and a cupcake in their hand!

  1. What an awesome summary of your first event! I heard it was fabulous, and by the looks of the pictures, it was fabulous plus some!

I was disappointed I couldn't attend this event, but I sure am looking forward to future ones!
