Introducing An Event Project and the ladies behind it...

An Event Project is a new, creative and unique business that is aspiring to bring fun to the community. It focuses on monthly women's nights out and art sessions to create one of a kind masterpieces. The goal is to reach out to local businesses and personal consultants to network and give back to the community.

The small idea developed during conversation between women with similar goals. Jamie Bastidas and Jennifer Weigle have both grown up in Somerset County, are now raising their own families and have vested interest in their community's growth. Jamie Bastidas had left the area for a few years and has returned to appreciate her roots and small town living. However, she sees the possibility to grow and add to the limited activities offered. Jamie has a background in Elementary Education and a love for planning. Jennifer holds a professional position which allows her to participate in community boards, sparking her interest in giving back. She has a niche for crafting and a passion for photography. Combining Jamie and Jennifer's talents and interests has been a natural partnership to contribute to the flourishing business.

What would one expect to see at an event? One event is women focused with a goal to bring those of all ages together to share in that month's "theme." The first event guests participated in a night of fashion, learning the latest style trends and ways to mix and match items in their closet. In November, it was about de-stressing for the holidays. Each person was treated to a chair massage or reflexology, followed by a mini lesson on yoga techniques and meditation.  The most recent night, sponsored by Window World of Somerset,  celebrated holiday cheer with a Pinterest project and Secret Santa exchange. All of the events have utilized local businesses, consultants and product.

The other event is a painting session with local artists, Kayla Borosky and Sarah Wilt. They provide step by step instruction to create the night's work of art. Each person leaves with their own unique canvas. Each month is a new canvas and age limits change with some events allowing BYOB. It is the hope of An Event Project that these sessions evolve into other forms of art and showcase other artists.

An Event Project is always looking for new ideas and people or businesses to promote. For more information go to www.facebook.com/aneventproject or read our blog at www.aneventproject.blogspot.com. It is the ultimate goal to enrich the community and the women in it!
